The best result of the tool can be obtained with special prepared AutoCAD files where each line corresponds to a vertical plane. For a good result, it is recommended to use the Import DXF DWG background tool only with simple AutoCAD files, with low number of lines, and also use the line filters of this tool. If there are a lot of lines in the AutoCAD file then we get a lot of confused constructions, which can overload the computer. The Import DXF DWG background tool turns AutoCAD lines into VideoCAD 2D/3D constructions. Starting from VideoCAD8 you can import lines and polylines on the layout or in blocks. Not all types of background constructions can be imported. You can repeat steps 3.7 many times, to import different constructions from the background to different construction types of VideoCAD, on different heights, to different layers, by different colors etc. Imported constructions are usual VideoCAD constructions, you can edit them. The result will be the same, as if you have outlined selected constructions manually. While importing to the Inclined rectangle, you can make it semitransparent.Ģ.6 On the Current construction parameter panel set parameters of the chosen VideoCAD construction ( line type, Heights, Thickness of walls etc.).Ģ.7 Click Import. While importing to the Aperture in wall, you can cut gaps in existing walls. You can import to Line segment, Polyline, Inclined rectangle, Double line, Wall, Aperture in wall. You can filter constructions by layout, layer, line type, color, line weight, name.Ģ.4 Make active a layer of VideoCAD, to which you want to import.Ģ.5 On the Toolbar choose a type of VideoCAD construction to which you want to import filtered constructions from the background. 2.1 Load and adjust (scale) the background, show it on the screen.Ģ.2 Choose Main menu>Drawing> Import DXF/DWG backgroundĢ.3 In the appeared box adjust the Filter of constructions, in order to make visible only constructions you want to import.
